This wad (flood.wad) is the first of a series of maps, that originally should build a megawad. But instead of finishing this project, the author was invited by id to contribute to "The Master Levels"-project and released the "Cabal"-maps seperately.
This map (map 03) is the first of a series of seven maps.
In view of the invitation by id, we can assume, that this map is the state of the art of 1995. Actually, it's a very short and simple but very difficult map.
There are only a few monsters, and not the hardest, but they're placed very cleverly and will give you a really hard challenge. After many reloads I finally managed to finish the map with 5% health.
Plus, one of the two secrets is VERY hard to find. You literally have to check every single corner to find the hidden switch.
After all, it's a challenging map and good-looking for those times. But it's also very simple and maybe too short.
