Huh? 
You could not find tutorials for SLADE? Well I don't know about Milian but I never used any tutorials to start mapping in WAD Author or Doombuilder.

Oh, I should look more often into my own forum. Didn't notice there were so many new posts.
As to the tutorials: hm. I can't remember how I started my mapping. It was with DeepSea, I think. But what is Slade? is it that automatic wad creator?? If the program isn't too new, you may probably find something useful in Dr Sleep's DOOM Apothecary.
