the biovite project - music
As a musician, I also took care of an appropriate music to the maps.
Map 01
For the first map I composed a piece that evokes the atmosphere of a
rainy saturday afternoon.
According to the gameplay, it's a straightforward music.
Map 02
The second map enters deeper into the Biovite project.
It's still a temporal
world of laboratories and technology. But the terrain is getting more complex
and unfamiliar. There are traps and surprises.
With this music I tried to hold the player in constant tension.
Map 03
This is a very dark and atmospheric track.
There's no MIDI-version of this, because I felt too limited by the MIDI format and the MIDI-sound
would have ruined the atmosphere.
Map 04
Map 04 is my first Doom map ever with several music tracks that are chosen according to the
game action like in modern computer games.
There's a driving, "adventurous" theme for the normal exploration scenes (D_B4IDLE), a dark mysterious theme
for several key scenes, like when you enter the Gravitator room for the first time,
and a "brutal" theme for fast, hard fighting situations (D_B4STRG).
All tracks are offered as arranged versions only.
Map 05
The main theme of map 05 is a drone with very little movement. It's probably not worth
listening to it outside of the game.
There's only one special music that is played when you enter the last "holy" fortress
of the map (D_B5HOLY). I wanted to give this room a special character, visually and also by
the sound.
