According to the textfile, "Realm of Chaos" is the "first Mac-made conversion wad" and when I started to play, I wondered if this is an excuse for simple, underdetailed maps. But I changed my mind while following the course of this 32-map megawad, built by a group of 7 Mac mappers. The maps became prettier and more interesting, and from map 09 on, I was absorbed by what I call the "classic feeling" of a wad. For today's ZDoom standards, the maps are not overly detailed, but enough to recall the classic atmosphere of Doom2.
Gameplay is diversified and well balanced. Maps with challenging fights are followed by some smaller and easier maps. A good portion of secrets and puzzles add to a megawad that is definitely worth a download and should keep you busy for some hours.
